Queen’s University Belfast has secured a £6.25 million award from UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) to lead a major initiative aimed at revolutionising supply chains across the UK. The project, titled ReImagining Supply Chains Network Plus (RiSC+), will focus on critical sectors including food, fashion, and minerals, addressing vulnerabilities exposed by global challenges such as COVID-19 and climate change.

Led by Dr Hangfei Guo at Queen’s Business School, RiSC+ will be based at the Momentum One Zero innovation centre and will bring together academic, industry, and government partners to develop resilient, data-driven supply chain solutions. Collaborators include Ulster University, University of Derby, Nottingham Trent University, and several regional companies such as Moy Park and Coca-Cola

This strategic investment aligns with UKRI’s “Building a Secure and Resilient World” theme and aims to future-proof supply chains through inclusive innovation and interdisciplinary expertise.
